The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections to Begin Vote-By-Mail and Early Voting in the September 14, 2021 Primary Election

(Cleveland) - Voting for the September 14th Primary Election will soon begin for voters who are in Cleveland and six other municipalities, including, Bay Village, Cleveland Heights, East Cleveland, Garfield Heights, Lakewood, and Solon. Voters will decide which candidates will advance to the November 2, 2021 General Election Ballot.

Voters still have time to register to vote and participate in the September 14th Primary Election by registering before Monday, August 16, 2021 at 9:00 p.m. This deadline also applies to anyone who needs to update their name or address on their voter registration record. Voters may register online, print a form from the website and mail it in, or drop it off in person. Mailed registration forms must be postmarked on or before the August 16, 2021 deadline.

Vote-by-Mail and Early In-Person voting will begin on August 17, 2021. Voters who are interested in receiving a Vote-by-Mail ballot application can visit www.443vote.us, call us at 216-443-VOTE (8683), or obtain a ballot application at any public library. Voters who wish to Vote-by-Mail must complete and submit a ballot application.

Early In-Person Voting hours are listed below and are also posted on the Board of Elections website www.443vote.us.

Weekdays*, August 17th – September 3rd: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Weekdays*, September 7th – September 10th** : 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, September 11th: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 12th: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Monday, September 13th: 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
*Weekdays are denoted as Monday through Friday
** The Board of Elections will be closed on Monday, September 6, 2021 in observance of Labor Day.

Cities and contests in the September 14th Primary Election:

  • Bay Village: Voters in City Council Ward 3 will have a Nonpartisan Primary.
  • Cleveland: Voters will have a nonpartisan Mayoral primary and City Council Wards 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,11,12, and 17 will have nonpartisan primaries.
  • Cleveland Heights: Voters will have a nonpartisan Mayoral primary.
  • East Cleveland: Voters will have a Democratic Mayoral Primary.
  • Garfield Heights: Voters will have a nonpartisan mayoral and city council ward 6 primary.
  • Lakewood: Voters will have a nonpartisan primary for Member of City Council at Large and Municipal Court Judge.
  • Solon: Voters will have a Nonpartisan City Council Ward 4 Primary.
