The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections Encourages Voters to Utilize The Secretary of State’s Vote-By-Mail Ballot Applications

Sep 6, 2022

(Cleveland) – The Ohio Secretary of State (SOS) is conducting a statewide Vote-by-Mail Ballot Application mailing. The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections (CCBOE) is encouraging voters to use the ballot application to request their Vote-by-Mail ballots for the November 8, 2022 General Election.

The appearance of the SOS Vote-by-Mail Ballot Application differs from those issued by the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. However, the required information collected on both styles of the application is the same. “We want to make sure that voters know the SOS document is an official Vote-by-Mail Ballot Application and they should not hesitate to use it,” said Anthony Perlatti, the Director of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

The Ohio SOS mails voters Vote-by-Mail Ballot Applications during the Presidential and Gubernatorial General Elections. Using this application is a convenient way to request a Vote-by-Mail ballot as it saves voters the first step of requesting an application to be mailed to their residence. It facilitates a more streamlined application process.

The SOS will conduct a second ballot application mailing following the October 11, 2022 voter registration deadline. The second mailing will reach first time registered voters who are not part of the initial mailing that is now underway.

Vote-by-Mail Ballot Applications are also available on the CCBOE’s website: www.443vote.us, by calling 216- 443-VOTE (8683), and at all public libraries.
