The Cuyahoga County Board Of Elections To Conduct A Voter Cancellation In December, 2023

Nov 30, 2023

(Cleveland) – The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections (CCBOE) has been informed by the Ohio Secretary of State (SOS) that it needs to conduct its 2019 NCOA Voter Registration Cancellation Program by December 18, 2023.

The CCBOE will finalize its data set of voter registration records to be cancelled on December 15th and will proceed with the cancellation on December 18th upon receiving SOS approval.

Cuyahoga County is one of three counties that did not cancel voter registration records in September 2023 on account of conducting a September 12, 2023 Primary Election. The remaining 85 counties conducted their cancellation requirements at that time.

Cuyahoga County’s cancellation deadline initially was postponed until after the March 2024 Primary Election but has now been moved to December 18th to coincide with the other remaining counties needing to process voter registration cancellations.

The CCBOE’s voter registration cancellation process will not be completed until voter participation activity in the November 7, 2023 General Election and December 5, 2023 Special Election are applied to the voter registration database.
