Persons with disabilities provide feedback towards purchase of new election equipment
The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections is thoughtfully purchasing new election equipment over the next year. One of many factors that will influence our decision is how well the new equipment will be able to serve persons with disabilities and the ADA community. Celebrating a successful National Voter Registration Day 2019
Congratulations to our community partners on an exciting and successful National Voter Registration Day (NVRD)! We had an extraordinary collaboration, and all together 2,481 people registered to vote as a result of our efforts. (This number includes 939 online registrations.) This far exceeded our goal and last year’s outcome of 1,850.

Polling location changes impact 80,000 voters this November
All voters are strongly encouraged to double-check their polling location before heading out to vote on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. That’s because polling location changes are happening in 16 municipalities, including seven wards within the City of Cleveland. The changes impact more than 80,000 voters.

Changes to early voting process create an Election Day experience
Early voters will have a new experience when they cast ballots at the Board of Elections. Changes have been made to make early voting more like going to the polls on Election Day. The changes are the result of the passage of House Bill 41.

We’re buying new election equipment, and we want to hear from YOU!
The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections will soon replace hundreds of polling location scanners and several high-speed central scanners that have been in use for over a decade. The purchase is part of a statewide funding program that has provided over $10 million for Cuyahoga County to upgrade its voting equipment.

Stand-by Poll Workers Needed for November Election
We are now hiring stand-by poll workers to step up in the event someone cannot fulfill their Election Day assignment. Stand-by poll workers will receive a minimum stipend of $100 for being on call Monday and reporting on Tuesday.

National Voter Registration Day Collaboration Exceeds Goals
National Voter Registration Day was a huge success this year! This grand collaboration yielded more than 1,800 voter registrations for Cuyahoga County, far surpassing the goal of 1,000 registrations. This is the first time in seven years that the voter registration roles have exceeded 900,000 in a November Election.

Let the Voting Begin!
Early voting for the November 6, 2018 General Election begins today. We kicked off the day by visiting the United States Postal Service where Director Pat McDonald held a press conference to discuss early voting. This morning, 70,000 ballots arrived for mailing and we expect to send out close to 130,000 ballots by the end of this week!

The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections must hire nearly 300 temporary employees to successfully prepare for, conduct and wrap up the election this November. The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections is proud to announce Vote by Mail Week, April 8-14, 2018, in partnership with Cuyahoga County Public Library (CCPL). Voting Just Became Easier with E-Poll Books
Beginning with the May 2 election, voters will now be checked into their polling location with e-poll books. While this will not change how voters cast their vote (paper ballots will still be used), e-poll books will speed up the check in process and provide other great benefits to both voters and election officials.
