Ballots for the March 17, 2020 Presidential Primary Election Are On the Way to Voters

Oct 14, 2021

(Cleveland) – The Presidential Primary Election of March 17, 2020 was extended to April 28, 2020 and became an all Vote-by-Mail Election. This was due to efforts to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Today the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections will begin mailing ballots to voters who have requested Vote-by-Mail ballots. “I know a lot of people have been checking their mailboxes for their ballots, so I am happy to report that the waiting is almost over,” said Anthony Perlatti, Director of the Board of Elections. “There is more good news, no postage will be required when mailing voted ballots back to the Board.”

The Board of Elections will continue to accept Vote-by-Mail Ballot Applications until noon on April 25th. “But I strongly suggest that people who intend to vote obtain, complete and submit their Ballot Applications as soon as possible to allow extra time for processing and mailing.”

People who have not already voted in this Election have several options when requesting a Vote-by-Mail ballot:

  • Go to the Board’s website, www.443VOTE.us to complete a Ballot Application form by entering your name and birthday. Print and complete the Ballot Application and mail it to the Board of Elections.
  • Go to the Board’s website, www.443VOTE.us enter your name and birthday and ask the Board to mail you a Ballot Application. When it arrives complete the Ballot Application and mail it to the Board of Elections.
  • Call the Board at 216-443-VOTE (8683) and ask the Board to mail you a Vote-by-Mail Ballot Application.
  • Visit the Board’s Administration Building at 2925 Euclid Avenue in Cleveland. The Building is closed to the public but there is an area just inside the back door where people may complete and submit their Ballot Applications between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm on weekdays.
