The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections to Celebrate the Centennial Anniversary of Women's Voting Rights

Oct 14, 2021

(Cleveland) – August 18, 2020, marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing and protecting women’s constitutional right to vote.

The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections will recognize this special day by featuring local women who hold elected offices and their thoughts on what the passage of the 19th Amendment means to them. These messages will be shared on our social media platforms throughout this historic day.

The Board of Elections will also recognize the women’s suffrage movement by offering drive-thru voter services at four locations on August 18, 2020. The Board will register voters, provide and accept Vote from Home (Vote-by- Mail) ballot applications, and provide employment information.

The Board’s drive-thru services will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Rocky River City Hall, 21012 Hilliard Boulevard, Rocky River
  • South Euclid City Hall, 1349 South Green Road, South Euclid
  • Friendly Inn Settlement, 2386 Unwin Road, Cleveland
  • Lincoln-West High School, 3202 West 30th Street, Cleveland

“We want everyone to join us in remembering the hard-fought victory that granted women the right to vote,” said Anthony Perlatti, Director of the Board of Elections. “This is a great opportunity to honor the suffrage movement by getting prepared to vote in the November Presidential Election.”
