Celebrate National Voter Registration Day on September 22, 2020

Oct 15, 2021

(Cleveland) - September 22, 2020, is National Voter Registration Day (NVRD). The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections and the Cleveland Votes organization is leading the local campaign to ensure that everyone eligible has registered to vote in the November 3, 2020, Presidential Election.

“We are spreading the word that there will be numerous opportunities for people to register to vote or to make changes to their names or addresses before the October 5, 2020 registration deadline,” said Anthony Perlatti, the Director of the Board of Elections. “A current active registration eases the voting process. Registering online is a popular choice for many voters because of its convenience.”

This celebration is part of a massive cross-country effort to register voters well ahead of Election Day, November 3, 2020. With a historic Presidential Election approaching, every eligible American voter should exercise their right to be heard at the ballot box. NVRD is the perfect day to get out and register at one of the multiple events happening in our area.

Founded in 2012, NVRD is an annual holiday when the entire nation focuses on registering Americans so they can exercise their most fundamental right – the right to vote. Nearly 3 million Americans have registered to vote on the holiday since the inaugural NVRD in 2012.
